Communication continues between the leader of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, and Hezbollah, albeit to a minimal extent. After the meeting in Clemenceau, there have been no recorded public meetings between the two sides. Information from mtv indicates that the relationship did not sever after the meeting. When we inquired about this with a media figure close to the party, he revealed that he asked the head of the Liaison and Coordination Unit in Hezbollah, Haj Wafiq Safa, about the matter. Safa responded that the last communication with Jumblatt was on Sunday morning, specifically at five o'clock!
When we questioned how communication occurred at such an early hour, he indicated that it took place via WhatsApp, where Jumblatt sent a message to Safa. The surprise, however, is that the content of the message does not relate to presidential matters or to the nearly formed government. Instead, Jumblatt sent an article about the Russian-Ukrainian war to the communication channel approved by the party, indicating that the Druze leader places significant importance on this issue rather than on internal affairs, even as a government is on the verge of formation and a presidential vacancy approaches.
