Mikati Reviews Ministry of Public Works Procedures for Emergency Response

The caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh at the Grand Serail and was briefed on the precautionary measures and plans the ministry is implementing at the four Lebanese ports (Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon, and Tyre), as well as regarding the airport, roads, and bridges to address any exceptional circumstances faced by these vital facilities. Minister Hamieh pointed out that these measures and plans emphasize the importance of maintaining operations at these facilities, which requires the Cabinet to establish a fast, flexible, and practical financial mechanism, based on legal principles approved by the Cabinet, to ensure a swift response to any potential developments in the country. Additionally, the Prime Minister received Middle East Airlines Chairman Mohammed El Hout and was informed about the procedures and measures being taken by the company.
