The lawyer of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Naeem Bangoota, announced that "a high court will consider next week a plea he submitted to suspend the three-year prison sentence imposed on him over corruption charges." The lawyer wrote on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter: "The plea to suspend Khan's sentence will be reviewed on August 22." Bangoota expressed hope that "the Islamabad High Court, which will review the plea, will grant Khan bail."
