The National Geophysical Center affiliated with the National Council for Scientific Research in Baħnās issued a statement denying “the information circulated by some news sites about an earthquake that occurred today in the Chouf.” It is noteworthy that social media and some media outlets circulated a report today stating that “a strong earthquake lasting about 4 seconds was felt by residents of Harat Naameh, Barja, and nearby villages in the Chouf region of Mount Lebanon.”
