The Athletic Club has won the title of the "Wassel" tournament for West Asian clubs, after renewing their victory over Gorghan from Iran by a margin of 14 points, winning 114-100 in the second leg of the final match held at the Nohad Nawfal Complex in Zouk. They had previously won the first leg 87-79 at Azadi Stadium in the Iranian capital, Tehran. With this victory, the Athletic Club qualifies for the final stages of the Asian Championship along with Beirut Club, which will take place in Dubai from the 5th to the 13th of next month.
