Islam Hamza, a lawyer, revealed to Reuters that a Tunisian judge extended the detention period for six prominent opponents of President Kais Saied for an additional four months on Tuesday. The six opponents have been imprisoned since February on suspicion of conspiracy against state security. The lawyer stated that Abdul Hamid Jlassi, Khiam Turki, Jawhar Ben Mbarek, Ghazi Al-Shawashi, Issam Al-Shabi, and Ridha Belhaj expressed their objection to the decision, which they described as "political and not judicial."
