U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of the Democratic Party stated on Sunday that she wants to hold Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas accountable and investigate his advisors after a media report revealed that he had taken expensive trips funded by a Republican party member over the decades. In an interview with CNN, she said, "It is the responsibility of the House of Representatives to follow up on this investigation in the form of accountability." She downplayed the likelihood of progress in the investigation, noting that the majority of the House of Representatives is made up of Republicans who would be unlikely to take action against the conservative justice. Ocasio-Cortez added, "Thomas's relationship with Republican real estate mogul Harlan Crow has revealed conflicts of interest since the beginning when Thomas joined the Supreme Court in 1991."
