Increase in Daily Oil Refinery Consumption Rate in China

Increase in Daily Oil Refinery Consumption Rate in China

Official data released today, Monday, indicates that the daily consumption rate of oil refineries in China has risen by 1.6% compared to the previous month. This increase followed the resumption of refinery operations after completing maintenance carried out in the spring and a rise in production to meet summer travel demand.

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics revealed that the total consumption rate of refineries in the world's second-largest oil consumer reached 60.95 million metric tons last month, equivalent to 14.83 million barrels per day.

The figures for June reflect a marginal increase from the 14.6 million barrels per day recorded the previous month, but they rose 10.2% compared to the same period last year.

During the first half of the current year, China processed 363.6 million metric tons of crude oil, or 14.44 million barrels per day, marking a 9.9% year-on-year increase, according to the data.
