Manchester City defender John Stones indicated that his team has become more mature and confident ahead of the UEFA Champions League final next Saturday against Inter Milan. Stones, who experienced disappointment after losing the 2021 Champions League final to Chelsea, noted that “the team will strive to prevent history from repeating itself.”
In an interview with Sky Sports, he said: “We must not allow this to happen again; we were in a position we had never encountered before. Now, after the team has gone through those difficult circumstances where the defeat was bitter, we do not want to face the same experience again.” He added: “We have become calmer, more mature, and more confident before the final as we know our capabilities and trust ourselves after all the achievements we have accomplished.”
