The Australian Ministry of Defence announced that an aircraft carrying U.S. military personnel was involved in an incident this morning, Sunday, during a training mission in the Northern Territory of Australia. Sky News Australia reported that a V-22 Osprey helicopter crashed off the coast of Darwin with around 20 U.S. Marine Corps members on board. The ministry stated in an email statement, "Initial reports indicate that the incident involves personnel from the U.S. Department of Defense and is unrelated to members of the Australian Defence Force." Additionally, it was noted that the incident occurred on Melville Island north of Darwin.
