The Korean Central News Agency reported that Pyongyang stated today (Wednesday local time) that a US soldier who crossed into North Korea on July 18 confessed to entering illegally and expressed his willingness to seek asylum there or in a third country. Soldier Travis T. King crossed into North Korea while on a civilian tour in the heavily fortified joint security area between the two Koreas. US officials believe King crossed the border intentionally.
