Syrian Earthquake Center Records 17 Tremors in the Past 24 Hours

The Syrian National Earthquake Center announced the recording of 17 weak earthquakes in the past 24 hours in the northern part of the country, in Tartus in the west, and in Homs in the center. The center reported that "the national seismic monitoring network stations recorded by 7:11 AM today 9 tremors in the Iskenderun region, ranging in magnitude from 1.6 to 2.4 on the Richter scale, and 6 tremors in Turkey, ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 degrees." It added: "The stations also recorded a tremor 43 kilometers west of Tartus with a magnitude of 2.2 on the Richter scale, in addition to a tremor 29 kilometers west of Homs."
