Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and delegations from Palestinian factions arrived in Cairo today, Saturday, in preparation for the meeting of the general secretaries of the factions scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, in the Egyptian capital. The Palestinian ambassador to Egypt, Diab اللوح, stated that Abbas will hold a special session with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, the efforts being made to advance the peace process, and to end the Israeli occupation, in addition to the significant efforts being exerted by Egypt to achieve national reconciliation and end the division. اللوح added, "Abbas will open the meeting of the general secretaries of the Palestinian factions taking place in the Arab Republic of Egypt tomorrow, Sunday, to discuss Palestinian developments and ways to restore national unity and end the division, in light of the escalating Israeli aggression against our people in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip."
