The French Ligue 1 club, Olympique Lyon, announced on Monday the dismissal of its head coach, Laurent Blanc. The club stated in a communiqué: "Olympique Lyon and Laurent Blanc have mutually agreed to terminate their collaboration effective today," adding that his assistants were also let go. The statement continued: "Olympique Lyon would like to thank Laurent Blanc and his staff for their commitment and professionalism over the past 11 months with the team."
