Arsenal, competing in the English Premier League, announced on Tuesday the signing of David Raya, Brentford's goalkeeper, on a one-season loan with an option to make the transfer permanent. Arsenal stated, "We have welcomed Spanish international goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford on a one-season loan." The 27-year-old goalkeeper joined Brentford in 2019 from Blackburn Rovers and played 161 matches in all competitions with them, including all of the team's matches in the Premier League last season, which ended with his team in ninth place. Raya was part of the Spain squad that won the UEFA Nations League last season. The statement added, "The agreement includes an option to make the transfer permanent," without providing further details. Reports indicated that Raya joined Arsenal for three million pounds ($3.82 million) with a permanent transfer option for 27 million pounds.
