Borrell Calls on Israel for Restraint and Evacuation of Patients from Gaza

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell called for an immediate halt to the fighting in Gaza and the evacuation of hospital patients who need urgent medical care, stating that the EU is deeply concerned about the worsening humanitarian crisis there. He said in a statement, "These hostilities are severely affecting hospitals and causing horrific casualties among civilians and medical staff." He added, "Hospitals must be immediately supplied with the most urgent medical supplies, and patients needing urgent medical care should be safely evacuated." He further stated, "In this context, we urge Israel to exercise maximum restraint to ensure the protection of civilians."
