The White House announced today, Friday, that it is still pursuing "sustainable diplomatic solutions" for the situations in Gabon and Niger. This statement was made by White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby in response to a journalist's question regarding the ramifications of the coups that took place in West and Central Africa this year. Kirby stated, "We are still seeking what we believe to be diplomatic solutions that may be able to endure here to ensure respect for democratic institutions in both countries."
