The Progressive Party Discusses the Academic Year with the Minister of Finance

A delegation from the Progressive Socialist Party and the Democratic Gathering visited the Minister of Finance in the caretaker government, Youssef Khalil. The delegation included MP Akram Shehayeb, the party's Secretary-General, Zafir Nasser, Commissioner of Education and Higher Education, Samir Najm, and former Director of the State Employees Cooperative, Anwar Duh. The delegation discussed the upcoming academic year with the minister, seeking clarification on the transfer of the 5 trillion LBP approved by the government for the Ministry of Education. They emphasized the utmost importance of this matter and the need to initiate it as soon as possible to enable teachers to fulfill their duties. The attendees also stressed the importance of expediting the transfer of social assistance (four salaries) to be paid along with the monthly salaries, as well as the necessity to increase the budget for the State Employees Cooperative.
