A vessel belonging to the Coast Guard Administration in Kuwait spotted a boat with two citizens fishing for mackerel in Kuwait Bay, violating environmental protection laws. When attempting to stop the boat, the young men tried to escape by jumping into the sea and swimming towards the shore; however, they got stuck in mud due to low tide. Helicopters and marine rescue firefighters were called in to assist, and the two were retrieved and handed over to emergency medical technicians. Legal action has been taken regarding the incident, with the Public Authority for Environment filing environmental violations against the two individuals and seizing their illegal boat.
