The U.S. State Department announced today, Wednesday, that Under Secretary of State Azra Zia and Special Envoy for Middle East Humanitarian Issues David Satterfield will meet with Egyptian officials and U.N. representatives in Cairo to discuss facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza. The department stated in a statement that Zia, who focuses on democracy and human rights issues, will first travel to Paris tomorrow, Thursday, where she will represent the United States at an international humanitarian conference on Gaza.
