However, they later clarified that the target was actually the leader Mu'taz Eid. The Hebrew sources initially reported the assassination of Abu Obaida and then mentioned the assassination of a person named Mu'taz Eid. One user pointed out that "Abu Obaida's real name is not Mu'taz Eid, so there is another figure who was assassinated." According to reports, Mu'taz Eid, the commander of Hamas's southern military region, was killed earlier today in an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip.
