Israeli UN Representative: Israel Will Investigate the Killing of a Reuters Photographer

Israeli UN representative Gilad Erdan stated today, Friday, that "Israel will investigate what happened in southern Lebanon following the killing of a Reuters television photographer." He said, "We always try to minimize civilian casualties and avoid them. We certainly never want to harm, kill, or shoot any journalist doing their job." He added, "But as you know, we are in a state of war, and unfortunate things can happen. We feel regret. We will investigate the matter. It is too early to know what happened there." The Israeli army targeted a group of journalists in a car belonging to "Al Jazeera" in Alama al-Shahab in southern Lebanon. As a result of the shelling, Reuters photographer Issam Abdullah was martyred, and five journalists were injured in the direct targeting of the car, which was burned.
