The report prepared by state authorities, as cited by "Russia Today," stated: "A leak occurred at the Brunsbüttel nuclear power station during maintenance work on the discharge line on September 28." It is being verified that low levels of contamination with radioactive materials were detected in the area immediately neighboring the leak site, noting that the Brunsbüttel nuclear power station has been shut down since 2007.
