Sheffield United, recently promoted to the English Premier League, announced on Wednesday the signing of Tom Davies on a three-year contract. The 25-year-old midfielder will join Sheffield United on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Everton. Sheffield manager Paul Heckingbottom stated, "He will add energy and physicality to the team along with his experience in the Premier League." Sheffield's next match will be at Nottingham Forest this Friday after losing their opening match 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace.
Davies has been with Everton since he was 11 years old and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2015. The former England U21 international played 19 Premier League matches last season and made his league debut in 2016. He has played 179 matches in all competitions for Everton, scoring seven goals.
