Body Found of Iraqi Director Louai Fadel After Days of Disappearance

An Iraqi security source reported today, Monday, the discovery of the body of Iraqi filmmaker Louai Fadel after he had been missing for seven days in the capital, Baghdad. The source stated that a security force found the director's body in the Al-Waziriyah area of Baghdad and transferred it to the forensic medicine department, noting that it was initially classified among unidentified bodies before identification was made later, after he had been missing for six days.

It was pointed out that no information on the cause of death has been provided thus far, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. The Iraqi Artists Syndicate mourned the passing of filmmaker Louai Fadel, stating in a press release, "The late artist Louai Fadel was one of the prominent young directors and a member of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate, representing Iraq in several international forums and creating many films, the latest being 'Hajil'."
