Netanyahu Plans to Restructure Judicial Selection Committee

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated today, Sunday, that he will work on changing the judicial selection committee amid a wave of protests against legislative plans. Netanyahu indicated that the next phase of judicial reforms is "likely to be about the formation of the committee that selects judges." He added to Bloomberg, "This is basically what remains." Netanyahu told Bloomberg that he does not want the government to interfere in the decisions made by the Bank of Israel and that he will consider the current governor's request to remain in position.
