Title: Two Killed in Clashes Between Iraqi Army and Peshmerga Forces

Security sources reported that "one soldier from the Iraqi army and one fighter from the Kurdish Peshmerga were killed today, Sunday, in a clash between the two sides in a mountainous area in northern Iraq." It was noted that "the Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, from the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party in Iraq, attempted to regain control of those positions, leading to the outbreak of clashes." Six Iraqi soldiers and five Peshmerga fighters were injured. Health sources indicated that two of the Iraqi soldiers are in critical condition. Military sources and Peshmerga forces stated that the clashes lasted for about two hours before easing when leaders from both sides sought to de-escalate tensions. However, military sources added that both sides are sending reinforcements to the area, describing the situation as "fragile."
