Power Restored to Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant After Brief Outage

The Ukrainian national electricity company "Ukrenergo" announced today, Monday, that "external power has returned to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant after a brief outage following a fire at an electrical facility in the city of Zaporizhzhia." The company stated in a statement: "Ukrenergo has restored the power transmission line that feeds the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, and the station is shifting to receive electricity from the Ukrainian electricity grid." Update: Ukraine has resumed power supply to the Zaporizhzhia NPP, the station is again switching to power from the Ukrainian energy system, Ukrenergo reported. Earlier, a Russian-appointed official in Ukraine confirmed that the "Zaporizhzhia" nuclear power plant had switched to standby mode. It was operating on emergency backup generators due to its complete disconnection from any external power supply after Ukraine disconnected the power line under its control. Efforts have been ongoing since the early hours of today to restore electrical power to the city.
