The Israeli army canceled the state of alert announced on Wednesday evening after declaring "suspected infiltration from Lebanon into Israeli airspace." Following this announcement, sirens were activated in cities and towns in the northern border region of the state. The army requested residents of Beit She'an, Safed, and Tiberias to take cover until "further notice," fearing a "large-scale attack."
Israeli media reported that "verification is underway regarding the infiltration of 15 to 20 drones from Lebanon towards the Avivim settlement and its surroundings." Channel 12 reported "suspicion of the infiltration of 15 gliders with fighters from Lebanon into the Avivim area." It pointed out that there was "a parachuting operation carried out by commandos from southern Lebanon into northern Israeli settlements."
Hebrew media mentioned that due to the suspicion of drone infiltration into Kiryat Shmona and Galilee settlements, residents were instructed to immediately enter a protected area and remain there until further notice. This information was reported by Israeli media only, while global media have expressed skepticism about the accuracy of the circulating reports, indicating that there was indeed a border breach but it may not have involved gliders. It is said that unarmed drones launched from Lebanon crossed the border and reached Dimona.
