Deputy Ghassan Skaff stated in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon" that "following the recent visit of French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian to Beirut, unexpected developments have occurred, elevating the Lebanese presidential file in the hierarchy of international concerns, especially French ones. This will prompt the French envoy to make additional efforts to ensure the success of his initiative." He said, "We, as Lebanese, must take advantage of the regional situation and the renewed French push to elect a president." He speculated on a "dialogue with those present," expressing optimism about "getting closer to a solution for the presidential election due to regional and international developments," revealing "Qatar's readiness to initiate a plan if Le Drian's initiative fails." He mentioned, "I invited President Berri to set dates for dialogue and election to lend credibility to his initiative; if Berri takes this step, some of those who have been hesitant or opposed to the dialogue may change their minds about participating," noting that "dialogue should not come with preconditions but within specific goals and a defined framework." He announced his participation in the dialogue, emphasizing that "the dialogue must lead to the election of a president."
