The Rudaw television channel reported today, Tuesday, that Iraqi Minister of Oil Hayyan Abdul-Ghani expressed optimism about the possibility of reaching an agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government to resume oil exports in the coming days. Abdul-Ghani stated on Rudaw, based in Erbil, that the oil production sharing contracts signed with the Kurdistan Regional Government are "unacceptable." He added that he proposed to the Kurdistan government and foreign oil companies operating in the semi-autonomous region to change the current contracts to profit-sharing contracts.
