Title: Lebanon Faces Spain in Basketball World Cup in Hungary

The Lebanese youth basketball team (under 19 years old) is set to play in the Round of 16 against the Spanish team on June 28 in the World Cup being hosted in Hungary until next Sunday. The match for the Cedars team (fourth in Group B) against the Spanish matador (first in Group A) represents the last chance for Lebanon to continue its journey in the largest global competition, as a victory would mean advancing to the quarter-finals, while a loss would place them in matches for ranking positions.

Lebanon suffered its third loss today, Tuesday, in the World Cup against the United States (70-122) at the end of the first round after also losing to Slovenia and Madagascar on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The loss to the United States was as follows: (39-20) (74-35) (95-57) (122-70). Lebanese player Alaa Sabbagh was the top scorer for his team with 13 points, while American Mark Armstrong was the overall top scorer of the match with 17 points.
