Chinese President Xi Jinping stated on Thursday that China and the European Union should not view each other as adversaries due to differences in systems, nor should they limit cooperation because of rivalries or allow confrontations to arise from their differences. According to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Xi made these remarks during a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel. Xi added that China wishes to make the EU a key economic and trade partner and a priority partner in technological cooperation.
