MP Tony Franjieh received Shadi Al-Sayyid, President of the Union of Workers' Syndicates in the North, along with a group of members from the refinery and terminal unions at the oil facilities in Tripoli, at his residence in Zgharta. He was informed about the situation of the oil facilities that remain closed, causing significant harm to the workers there and their families, as well as to the economic activity in the north.
In the same context, Franjieh made a call to the caretaker Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayyad, indicating that "the facilities, based on the ministry's directives, are working on some necessary repairs to ensure the required protection, in preparation for the arrival of the diesel shipment, which will be delivered to the facilities at the end of April."
Consequently, Franjieh confirmed that "operating the facilities this month eliminates doubts about the possibility that their closure was intentional and served some dubious projects and major interests, and vice versa."
