The British Foreign Office stated today, Friday, that it has imposed sanctions on four Iranian officials. The ministry clarified in a statement that "the sanctions were imposed on the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, his deputy, the Mayor of Tehran, and a police spokesperson." EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Thursday that "Britain, France, and Germany informed the Union that they intend to maintain sanctions imposed on Iran related to ballistic missiles, which are set to expire in October under the Iranian nuclear agreement reached in 2015."
