Aston Villa, competing in the English Premier League, announced on Saturday that it has reached an agreement to sign Youri Tielemans for the upcoming season. The 26-year-old midfielder from Belgium will join Aston Villa on July 1 after the expiration of his contract with Leicester City. Following Leicester's relegation last season, Tielemans sought a new opportunity and becomes the first player to join Villa during the summer transfer window. Tielemans played a pivotal role at Leicester City when he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final in 2021 against Chelsea. He began his career at Belgian club Anderlecht and moved to Monaco in 2017 before joining Leicester two years later. Aston Villa finished the league in seventh place, securing participation in the Europa Conference League next season.
