The appearance of a young Egyptian man in a wedding dress during the celebrations of the Ramadan parade in Esna has caused a stir in Luxor, as the city's residents welcome the holy month.
Residents of Luxor expressed their anger and dissatisfaction on social media regarding the actions of the young man who wore women's clothing, applied full makeup, and presented himself in this manner. They collectively stated that this is an inappropriate display for the reception of the holy month and its sanctity.
A young man from Esna commented on the photos: "Unfortunately, I was standing on Ahmed Orabi Street in Esna when the parade passed, and there were inappropriate scenes. In the past, the Ramadan procession was led by Al-Azhar scholars and local dignitaries, followed by Sufi chanting groups with their green flags, praising the Prophet (peace be upon him). Now, unfortunately, we have witnessed this regrettable sight."
A girl named Shams from Luxor said: "I don't understand what this has to do with Ramadan and fasting... And fear the day when you return to Allah... instead of praying for God to relieve us from inflation and calamities? Oh Allah, remove Your wrath and anger from us."
