Russian news agency TASS reported today that emergency services stated that "at least 16 people were injured due to an explosion inside an optics factory in the Sergiev Posad area, which is located 50 kilometers northeast of Moscow." The agency noted that "the explosion apparently occurred in a warehouse for fireworks."
Emergency services indicated that they do not suspect that "the explosion was caused by an attack from a Ukrainian drone." Many such attacks have occurred in Moscow and its surroundings in recent weeks and months. The factory in Sergiev Posad produces optical equipment, and Russian security forces are among its clients.
