ISIS Claims Responsibility for Attacks in Damascus

The Islamic State (ISIS) announced in a statement today, Friday, its responsibility for an attack on the "Shrine of Lady Zaynab" in southern Damascus, Syria, which resulted in the deaths of several individuals and injuries to others. The organization also claimed responsibility for another attack that occurred at the same shrine earlier this week, which resulted in injuries to two people. This comes during the peak season for the shrine, as Shia crowds gather to commemorate the anniversary of Ashura.
