The Ministry of Health in Equatorial Guinea confirmed today, Monday, that the death toll from the Marburg virus, which has been spreading for two months, has reached ten fatalities.
The Ministry reported in a tweet that "as of Sunday, no new cases have been recorded in the last 48 hours, with a total of 14 cumulative cases and ten people hospitalized, two of whom have confirmed infections and eight are suspected cases."
One new death has been recorded, bringing the total number of fatalities in Equatorial Guinea from this deadly hemorrhagic fever resembling Ebola to ten.
The ministry noted that they are currently monitoring a total of 604 individuals who have been in contact with infected patients, down from 825 people on March 30.
