Riyadh Air in Talks with Airbus and Boeing

The CEO of Saudi Riyadh Air, Tony Douglas, indicated today, Monday, that the company is in discussions with Airbus and Boeing regarding a large order for narrow-body aircraft. During a meeting of global airlines in Istanbul, Douglas declined to comment on the size of the second order for aircraft, but mentioned to Reuters, "It will not be a small order by any means." He added, "This order may not be our last."

Saudi Arabia had announced the establishment of Riyadh Air, appointing Douglas as its CEO, and revealed an order for up to 72 Boeing 787 aircraft in March, as part of its efforts to diversify its economy and serve over 100 destinations by 2030.
