Turkey Arrests 42 Human Smugglers

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on Saturday the arrest of 42 human smuggling organizers in the west and southwest of the country. Yerlikaya reported via his account on the platform "X" that "25 individuals were apprehended, including one foreign national, as part of operations conducted by security, gendarmerie, and coast guard teams in Muğla." He also explained that operations carried out by the gendarmerie and coast guard in Izmir led to the arrest of 17 human smugglers, one of whom is foreign. He emphasized that "the fight against irregular migration will continue with determination."
