Ukrainian officials have announced that the death toll from the flooding caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam has risen to 16, while Russian officials reported that 29 people have died in the territories controlled by Moscow. The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated on Telegram late Saturday night that "more than 3,600 people have been evacuated from flooded areas in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, while 31 are still missing and around 1,300 homes remain submerged." Andrei Alekseenko, head of the administration installed by Russia in the occupied parts of the Kherson region, announced on Telegram that the death toll had increased to 29. The collapse of the Kakhovka Dam on June 6 flooded a large area of land in southern Ukraine and in the parts of the country occupied by Russia, damaging agricultural land and cutting supplies to civilians.
