The Russian Ministry of Defense stated today, Friday, that "Ukraine launched a missile towards Moscow and attacked the Crimean Peninsula with approximately 42 drones, in one of the largest known coordinated Ukrainian air assaults on the Moscow-controlled peninsula." It announced that it "shot down a modified S-200 missile over the Kaluga region, which borders Moscow." The city of Kaluga is located less than 200 kilometers from Moscow. Meanwhile, the governor of Kaluga region stated that "Russian air defenses shot down a drone over the area southwest of Moscow today, Friday." The Russian intelligence agency reported today, Friday, quoting Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin as saying that "the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive is clear."
