Sisi Announces a Package of Measures to Alleviate the Economic Crisis

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced a series of decisions today, Saturday, including salary increases and tax exemptions. El-Sisi stated, "The level of suffering faced by the Egyptian family due to living burdens," emphasizing that he is not "far removed from the people's conditions." The Egyptian president stressed that "the state is making strenuous efforts and incurring heavy costs to maintain stability amid the escalating conflicts in neighboring countries," announcing an "increase in the exceptional cost-of-living allowance to become 600 instead of 300 pounds." He added, "Egypt has been going through difficult circumstances for four years," noting that it "imported 10 million tons of wheat."
