SDF Announces Death of 5 Turkish Soldiers in Syria; Turkey Denies

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), led by the Kurds, announced on Friday that they killed five Turkish soldiers in operations carried out in response to drone attacks conducted by Turkey on areas under their control. The U.S.-backed forces stated that the operations took place on Thursday against two military bases where Turkish troops are stationed. In contrast, a spokesperson from the Turkish Ministry of Defense denied the claims made by the Kurdish-led SDF about the death of five Turkish soldiers. When asked about the SDF's statement, the spokesperson said, "This claim is not true."
