Arrest of 9 Individuals in Tripoli and Baalbek

The Army Command, Directorate of Guidance, issued a statement today, Saturday, stating: "As part of the security measures implemented by the military units with the support of the Intelligence Directorate in the areas of Tripoli and the Sharaouna neighborhood in Baalbek, 8 Lebanese and 1 Syrian were arrested on 24 and 25/8/2023 for possessing military weapons, a quantity of ammunition, and drugs." The seized items have been handed over, and an investigation with the detainees has commenced under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
