23 Killed Due to Russian Shelling in Kherson

The governor of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Prokudin, announced today, Thursday, that 23 people were killed as a result of Russian shelling on the Ukrainian city of Kherson and its vicinity yesterday, Wednesday. The shells struck a large store, a railway station, and residential buildings. Prokudin indicated that "the enemy's targets are the places where we live; their goals are our lives and the lives of our children," announcing the latest death toll in an online video. He added that 46 people were also injured in yesterday's attacks.

Local officials reported that among the dead were three engineers who were attempting to repair the damage caused to the electricity network in previous Russian shelling. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the attacks on Kherson yesterday, condemning "the bloodshed that Russia leaves behind with its shells."

On May 3, Russian shelling killed 23 people in Kherson and Kherson Oblast, and injured 46 others (including two children), according to the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin. He stated that Russians shelled the region 98 times over the past day.
