Madagascar defeated Lebanon (83-66) today, Sunday, in Group B of the U19 Basketball World Cup being hosted in Hungary until July 2. This marks Lebanon's second loss after they lost their first match on Saturday against Slovenia (58-74). The African team deserved the victory as they controlled the match from the beginning, despite Lebanon's attempts to get back into the game in the second quarter (the Cedars narrowed the gap to five points) and the fourth quarter. The Lebanese team struggled in the third quarter, scoring only six points compared to 22 points from their opponents. The quarter scores were as follows: (24-12)(38-30)(60-36)(83-66). The top scorer for the Lebanese team was Karim Rtaileh (19 points), while Matthias Memadi was the top scorer in the game and for the winning team (34 points).
