Shooting at Mexico City Airport Injures Two

The government of Mexico City reported that two people were injured outside Mexico City International Airport on Tuesday after a suspected thief opened fire on the police, although flight operations continue as usual. The city's security ministry stated in a statement that a suspect was arrested. Carlos Velasquez, the airport director, told reporters that the terminal where the incident occurred is operating uninterrupted and that passengers are not in danger. Mexico City Security Minister Pablo Vasquez told local media that the situation is under control. The ministry mentioned that law enforcement officials were investigating alleged robberies in the customs area of the airport when the confrontation occurred, which resulted in an official being shot and a police officer being injured after being struck by a vehicle.
